formTOobject is a 4-day workshop to be held in Singapore during the Singapore Design Festival [ www.singaporedesignfestival.com ] from November 23-26.
The workshop will be held in a studio setting and is focused on generative design methods for speculative objects and forms usable in disciplines such as product design, architecture, furniture, sculpture, interactive installations, among others.
Participants will develop designs based on established and experimental rules and methods derived from fields ranging from computational mathematics, biology, and natural/ unnatural phenomena.
The format of the workshop includes workshop sessions focusing primarily on Grasshopper, Rhino’s parametric design plug-in. Besides designing these generative forms and objects on the computer, participants will be able to produce prototypes of their designs using an additive rapid prototyping machine.
The workshop will be conducted by Jeffrey Hong (MoonBaseBeta, ADM) + Agnes Tan & W.K Lim (McNeel Asia).
